From the Principal’s Desk Secretary General’s Message

principal1It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the 3rd edition of K.R. Mangalam Model United Nations Conference – KRMUN Vikaspuri 2016 to be held from 12-14 May 2016.

KRMUN Vikaspuri 2016 will witness a simulation of eight Committees. This year, apart from having a choice of becoming a conventional UN Diplomat, you will have the opportunity of being a judge in the International Court of Justice; in a Continuous Crisis Committee to discuss the British expansion in India; deciding the fate of Yemen in the UNSC; discussing the state of India in 1977 in AIPPM; talking about terrorism in Covert Conference for Intelligence Agencies or conversing over issues in China in the Chinese Politburo. Apart from these, the JCC will be a fictional Committee, and covering all these will be the Press Corps.

This year, we aim at bringing to you another three days of ardent debate. As the principal of K.R. Mangalam World School, Vikaspuri, I am proud of my students as year after year they have enthusiastically participated in various MUN Conferences and have brought laurels to the school. In 2014, we hosted the very first edition of our Conference: KRMUN 2014. This year as well, the students have taken it upon themselves to make the Conference even bigger, better and more exciting. In line with the UN, K.R. Mangalam World School, Vikaspuri fosters and encourages the democratic spirit, promotes unity and equality for all, and tolerance in manner, thought and deed. Our motto, Together towards tomorrow exemplifies our ethos.

I am personally very fond of Specialised Agencies. I think they are challenging enough to ensure that the delegates are constantly engaged in Committee. They bring out the best of delegates and force them to apply their brains and find solutions to the most complex problems. With the simulation of eight specialized agencies this year, that too of such varying nature, the Conference is definitely going to be more challenging than ever before.

I warmly welcome you all to come and debate.  I urge the students to come forth and shoulder the responsibility of being the change they wish to see and bring about.

S Honourable delegates, faculty advisors and distinguished dignitaries,

It is my honour and immense pleasure to welcome you to the third session of K.R. Mangalam Model United Nations Conference 2016. For past several years, Model United Nations has brought together students to discuss the pressing and significant issues in the international community. Students as diplomats, research, debate, negotiate and work together to draft resolutions that address society’s most complex issues. I feel that there is a need for a platform, to educate people, to make them aware of the issues that teach them and interest them at the same time.

At the time when the world is experiencing a paradigm change in the global scenarios and the economic environment is at the peak of dynamism, we at KRMUN, give students a perfect platform to step into the shoes of diplomats, insulate your country’s policies, deliberate on the substantial conundrums and pivot in the common objective of striving to attain world peace.

We at KRMUN, aim at recapitulating the inexhaustible effort of universal solidarity in strengthening the world to make it the world we always dreamed of. We are organizing a conference where we have an erudite hand-picked Executive Board moderating eight stellar committees which will give you an opportunity to question your own beliefs, broaden your horizons and emerge as a global responsible citizen.

We hope to see you and have three terrific days of debating and networking this May. On the behalf of my team, I invite you to be a part of the K.R. Mangalam Model United Nations Conference, 2016.

Shubham Khandelwal
Secretary General

Secretariat’s Message

Dear Delegates and MUN Advisors,

The school nurtures the students in an environment that fosters democratic values, respect for the opinion for one and all, logical thinking and expression, values that are the essence of the United Nations as well. After all, peace can only be established with the use of reason, logic and a sense of mutual understanding, rather than violence, aggression and war.

Keeping this in mind, the Secretariat is proud to present the third edition of K.R. Mangalam World School Model United Nations Conference 2016.

In this conference, we have decided to introduce eight committees. Here at KRMUN, we do not see ourselves simply as a conference defined by committee sessions. We hope to go further to kindle and foster solutions for both today’s and tomorrow’s global challenges. We hope that the experience and knowledge gained through the conference will not only establish a subject-matter interest among delegates, but also invigorate and drive innovation in the problem-solving process. Our endeavour is to provide the delegates with a prolific and rich experience during the course of this three day conference, giving them a platform to opine, inform, persuade, deliberate and debate.

We hope you will join us in May for an unforgettable experience.

On behalf of the entire staff of the conference, the Secretariat cordially invites you and your institute delegation to join us at KRMUN 2016.

Warm regards,
The Secretariat
